BOOK FACTS

BOOK DESCRIPTION
Artificial intelligence is expanding organizational capacity to analyze, coordinate, generate options, automate and execute. At the same time, strategy is increasingly delivered through temporary, cross-functional, change-intensive initiatives.
The Leadership Economy examines the gap between the work senior leaders are now accountable for and the capability many organizations deliberately develop. It introduces Role-Agnostic Project Leadership™, or RAPL™, as a practical architecture for carrying strategic intent through choice, governance, delivery, risk, adoption, benefits and sustained value.
The book does not ask executives to become project managers. It asks organizations to make visible and build the leadership capability required above, across and beyond delivery.

Why I Wrote This Book
I wrote The Leadership Economy because I kept seeing the same pattern. Organizations had strong strategies, capable teams, major transformation investments and increasingly powerful AI, yet the value still did not land.
The missing issue was often not technology or activity. It was whether leaders had been deliberately developed to diagnose, prioritize, govern, protect and sustain strategic work across functions. This book names that condition the Leadership Economy and introduces Role-Agnostic Project Leadership™, or RAPL™, as a practical capability architecture for it.
My purpose is not to argue that leaders create value alone. It is to help organizations see and build the leadership capability required to turn technological and strategic ambition into responsible and sustained value.

What Readers Will Be Able To Do

Understand the four RAPL™ phases and twelve role-agnostic capabilities.
Ask better questions before approving, governing, scaling or closing strategic work.
Embed capability into role design, succession, performance, executive development & governance.

RAPL™ In One Page
RAPL™ follows the life of a strategic investment from need and intent to sustained value in operations. The four phases are Define the Work, Govern the Work, Protect the Work and Land the Value. The twelve capabilities are the leadership acts a senior leader must perform well across those phases, regardless of title or function.
Understand the need, make choices and convert strategy into executable work.
Allocate capacity, connect work to benefits and sponsor delivery.
Lead through uncertainty, build commitment and create decision-ready governance.
Move AI and transformation into adoption, responsible value and durable benefit.
Favourite Passage
The synthesis can be stated simply. The AI Economy expands what organizations can do. The Project Economy changes how strategic work is organized.
The Leadership Economy shapes whether technological capacity and strategic change produce responsible and sustained value. RAPL™ is the capability system designed for that responsibility.

LEADERSHIP FRAMEWORK
RAPL™ follows a strategic investment from need and intent through to responsible, sustained value in operations:
Diagnose | Choose | Translate
Select | Integrate | Deliver
Protect | Align | Govern
Optimize | Adopt | Sustain
